Escape the lights of Queenstown and journey just 15 minutes into the countryside for an unforgettable 75-minute stargazing experience. Discover the wonders of the southern night sky through guided naked-eye stargazing, view a mixture of deep space objects through our telescope and take home a memory to last a lifetime with our free digital photographs. 

Our tour takes place on private land away from the city lights where light pollution is kept to a minimum allowing us uninterrupted views of the night sky. Your guide will use a high powered green laser pointer to draw constellations, point out important stars, teach you how to navigate using the stars, and give you an introduction to some of astronomy's key concepts.

Through the telescope you will look at a variety of different objects including bright stars, open star clusters, nebula, globular clusters, planets and the Moon. The exact objects viewed will vary every tour and will be decided upon by your tour guide. 

At the end of the tour, you will be invited to join in with taking photographs of the night sky. Your guide will use one of our cameras to capture an image of you with the night sky in the background. This photograph is free and will be uploaded to: Flickr within 48 hours of your tour. As your guide is taking photographs you are welcome to take your own photographs on your phone or camera.

• Infants
  under 3 years old do not need a ticket, groups traveling with infants must book onto the 1st tour of the night, and you must contact us in advance to let us know you are bringing an infant with you.

Cancelation Policy: 

Stargazing is a weather dependant activity, if we are unable to run the tour due to adverse weather you will be given the option reschedule you booking to another time or date. If you are unable to reschedule your booking, you will always be provided with a full refund. 

Decisions on running the tour will only be made 1 hour before the tours start time. Cancelations and updates will be sent out via email.

Bookings can be cancelled or rescheduled by the customer up until 24 hours before the start of your tour. cancelations within 24 hours are not eligible for a refund. If you do not arrive on time for check-in, you will be marked as absent and you will not be entitled to a refund. If you wish to join another tour, you will have to purchase new tickets.
